Feis Cup Na Fianna v Ratoath

Feis Cup Round 1: Na Fianna Knocked out by Ratoath

    Na Fianna: 1-11

    Ratoath: 1-16

Na Fianna were beaten for the second time this year by Ratoath in Enfield on Thursday evening.

The visitors were in control from the start as they quickly opened up a lead with a succession of points and a goal. Na Fianna only scored 0-4 in the first half through Shane Walsh (2), Peter Slevin and Brian Queeney. The score was 1-08 to 0-4 to Ratoath at the break, with a lot of work to do in the second half for the home side.

Na Fianna improved in the second half, but they could not find a way through the Ratoath defence to get any closer than three points. Shane Walsh was on target again, along with a Jack McNally point while sub Kevin Coffey hit a good point with the outside of his boot. Jamie Queeney finished to the net when reacting quickest to a blocked shot but Na Fianna could not get close enough as Ratoath replied with points to run out deserved winners.
