BFL Div 2: Long Journey Proves Fruitful for Na Fianna

    Na Fianna: 4-14

    St Michael’s: 2-11

Na Fianna made the trip to Carlanstown on Thursday night and collected the points in this first round clash in the BFL Division 2.

Na Fianna made a poor start, with the home side finding themselves ahead 1-04 to 0-1 midway through the first half.

Na Fianna managed to regroup with two well taken Jack McNally points while Jamie Queeney finished well to the net for a goal.

Against a strong wind, Na Fianna went in at half time 1-08 to 1-07 ahead.

The South Meath side dominated the second half with Mark Slevin blasting two goals high into the net, as did Jonathan McCloskey who hit one goal. Jack McNally, Jamie Queeney, Michael Collins and Glen McDonnell all added points as Na Fianna ran out convincing winners.

Ciaran McDonnell and Ciaran Keogh made the step up from Minor football in 2018 and both gave excellent displays with McDonnell particularly causing havoc in the St Michael’s defence while Glen McDonnell, Jack McNally, Sean Rafferty, Mark Slevin and Sean Coffey also impressed.
