Na Fianna Ladies suffer defeat in the SFC

    Royal Gaels 2-11 Na Fianna 0-9


    Na Fianna Senior Ladies Footballers were second best to a polished Royal Gaels side when they played Round 2 of the Senior Championship in Dunshaughlin last Sunday evening. The home side held a three point lead at half time on a score line of Royal Gaels 0-7 to Na Fianna 0-4. Royal Gaels upped their game significantly in the second half and while both teams traded points, the Gaels scored two goals which put the game out of Na Fianna’s reach. Na Fianna will return to League action next weekend when they play Boardsmill. Championship action will not return again until July.

    Junior Football Championship

    Na Fianna’s Junior Ladies Football team began their championship campaign with a comfortable victory over the Clonard/Drumbarragh combination in Clonard last Saturday evening. The game saw an impressive scoring feat from Aisling Ennis, following her long term injury. Other point scorers include Siobhan Kirby; Niamh Kirby; Catherine Neary while goals came from Eimear Fagan; Amy Boland; Grainne Clarke and Sarah Scully. Na Fianna have to wait until July for their next game in the Championship.
